Skill Select

From July 2012 Department of Immigration and Citizenship has introduced a SkillSelect program. This online system allows prospective skilled workers to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) as a potential skilled migrant to Australia.

The lodgement of EOI is compulsory for some visa subclasses in skilled migration stream, and only applicants who receive an invitation from department can lodge the visa application.

For the following visa subclasses lodgement of the Expression of Interest is compulsory:

  • Subclass 189 Skilled - Independent (Permanent)
  • Subclass 190 Skilled - Nominated (Permanent)
  • Subclass 489 - Regional Sponsored (Provisional)
  • Visas in Business Skills visa program.

Lodgement of EOI for following visa subclasses is optional (although highly recommended):

  • Subclass 186 - Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS)
  • Subclass 187 - Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS)
  • Subclass 457 - Temporary Business (Long Stay)

Although lodgement of Expression of Interest (EOI) is possible without registered migration agent, it is advisable to consult an agent in order to check if all requirements are met and make sure that the most suitable visa option is chosen. To contact our migration agent, please fill in contact form.

With introduction of SkillSelect potential migrants to Australia can apply directly for specific Permanent Residency Visa subclass or use a clear pathway of different visa subclasses. If you are interested to check what options you have please contact us.
